A Thrilling California Summer Camp
Everyone knows California is a beautiful state. From the picturesque beaches to the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the redwood forests and amazing national parks, it has something for everyone and it's breathtaking views are a show stopper. Although for some parts of California it's like summer all year long, kids have to go to school for most of the year, so summertime is when so many of those natural resources are enjoyed by children of all ages attending California summer camps.
One of the first things people think of when they hear the word „California” is the beach. With its extensive coastline and warm climate, the beaches certainly are a major part of the C¹lifornia way of life. This has been incorporated into many kinds of summer camps available for children.
Surfing summer camps give older children the chance to spend much of their summer on a board. From beginners to experienced surfers, every child can enjoy the experience of this type of California summer camp. Along with the opportunity to make new friends and spend some time being independent, kids will learn important skill and safety tips about playing in the ocean and surfing.
Other beach summer camps will include surfing, but will also branch out to water skiing, sailing, swimming, fishing, canoeing and many other water sports. Spending the summer in the water is the perfect way to beat the heat while still getting exercise and fresh air.
Other summer camps offered in California also draw on the love of extreme sports. Adventure camps or extreme sport camps give kids the chance to flirt with danger under and experienced and caring eye of professionals. This is a great option for the thrill seeking teenager whose parents want to be sure that they are taken care of while getting their kicks.
Of course California summer camps are not only for kids who are looking for a rush of adrenaline. There are camps that follow the traditional summer camp model much more closely. Camps in the mountains provide children with a nature experience as well as the chance to take part in sports, games, make arts and crafts, and learning to work in teams and as an individual.
Summer camps come with very different schedules. Some will offer either a day camp or residential option. Some are brief weekend camps and others last up to eight weeks. It is important to look into these aspects of the camp before your child gets excited about it. You will need to consider location of the camp, pricing, including finding out about any hidden fees or extra costs, transportation, and what your child will be required to bring, and what they will not be allowed to take with them.
With all the beauty and adventure to be found in California, it's a great place for kids to attend summer camp, those who live in the state, as well as kids from across the country.
